What are the chances of a burglary being thwarted of a successful break-in at a Van Nuys residence more than once on more than one occasion? Chances are if you live in Van Nuys, CA the odds would say this is a frequent incident where a gun-carrying homeowner said enough is enough in 2024.

VAN NUYS, CA — A homeowner in Van Nuys deterred an attempted break-in at his home on the evening of April 12, 2024 when he fired a shot, prompting four would-be burglars to flee. The incident took place in the 14000 block of Calvert Street near Hazeltine Avenue at about 9:45 p.m., according to NBC 4.

Upon receiving reports of gunfire, officers from the Los Angeles Police Department responded to the scene. They learned from the homeowner that he had fired a shot after encountering four intruders inside his house, which led them to quickly leave the area.

No property was reported stolen, and fortunately, there were no injuries. The police are continuing their investigation into the attempted burglary, examining the circumstances of the incident.

But WAIT- There is more…Earlier in the year another would-be robber tried the same thing, only at a different residence.
